We Have a Goocher

BREATHTAKING, 2006

They say you can’t judge a book by its cover but we all know that’s just plain untrue. There is something about the look and the feel of old worn out, tossed about, thrashed and trashed books. I love the smell of the archaic brittle yellow paper and the aged ink. So you can imagine how I blew my wig when I came across still life artist Thomas Allen on the interwebs. His creations are so vivid and so real that the characters literally explode out of the pages and onto your desktop.

Friends, you can have your Kindles and your Sony Readers, but I’ll take my old school pocket stuffers any day.

More of his work after the jump…
