The Easy Way to Skip TSA

June 22, 2011

On a recent business trip to Boston I was confronted with a dilemma. $325 tickets to witness the US Men’s National soccer team take on a world-crushing Spanish squad *spoiler alert - the US got spanked* or private jet to Maine for an elegant dinner in a top-tier restaurant and back within the same evening. Seriously.

Are you effing kidding me?! Dude. Private jet. No contest.

It’s a quick 30 minute flight along the coast from Boston to Maine with spectacular coastal scenery along the way. And from the private airstrip in Rockland it’s just a two mile jaunt by automobile to Primo. Hands-down one of the finest restaurants north of NYC, and the most decadent dining experience of my life. The food is extremely seasonal, culinarily adventurous, and features the freshest of ingredients. Most of the food is grown and raised on the property and the rest is locally sourced. We ordered a sampling of all appetizers, multiple bottles of wine, fine liqueurs, several entrees, and every dessert on the menu (yeah, I was stuffed). All in time to make our 9:00pm scheduled flight back to Massachussetts.

If this experience sounds familiar (as it did to me at the time) it’s because Anthony Bourdain had a very similar one in the Maine Episode of No Reservations

Go buy your lottery tickets now.
