Two weekends ago I headed down into the country (Warrenton, Virginia) for the Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom Tour. I’d first seen these old birds back in ’99 when I was in undergrad, and have been following along via electronic newsletter every since. The organization is doing some great things keeping the heart and soul of these winged heroes alive.
Their Consolidated B-24J Liberator Bomber, designated with the 8th Air Force 467th BG Witchcraft paint scheme, is the last American B-24 still flying over its native land.
